Fall Decorating in Our Living Room
One of my favorite things about decorating our old timber home is finding ways to blend its historic character with the cozy comforts of the season. For me, cozy fall home decor is all about mixing vintage treasures and collected pieces with the warmth and charm that make an old house feel like home.

Fall has arrived at the cottage, bringing dried hydrangeas, the warm glow of a homemade candle nestled in a thrifted vintage crystal candy dish, and splashes of gold throughout the room. To coordinate with this year’s fall colors, some ceramic pumpkins received a fresh coat of spray paint.
DIY Thrifted Pillows for Just $3.50 Each!
One of my favorite projects was finally making pillows for the couch using thrifted upholstery fabric and a repurposed curtain. Even better, I was able to use previously thrifted feather inserts, so each pillow cost just $3.50 to make! In fact, I was able to create something beautiful for our home while keeping costs low. Plus, not only did I save money, but it also feels so good to give thrifted finds a new purpose!
My beautiful, thrifted coffee table spray painted…antique gold, just have to add the beautiful brass wheels…hopefully Don will do that soon. Just light a candle and fall is here!
I love how my mantle turned out this year! I used greenery and black-eyed Susan stems from my English cottage garden that I dried last year. And THIS BRASS BOWL…what can I say? Rummage sale! Did you see the fish handles? To finish the look, I simply added more dried hydrangeas from the garden, a couple of pumpkins, and velvet ribbon. Then, I placed thrifted brass candlesticks at each end to complete the cozy fall home decor. And just like that, DONE!

Vintage Fall Style in the Dining Room
Bring on the moody green lime lights hydrangeas, the green velvet table runner, crystal sconces, and thrifted vintage dishes. vintage silverware and gold velvet ribbon …for this sweet cottage tablescape. Don’t forget to add the olive-green napkins, and the freshly baked sourdough bread
Don’t overlook the outdoors for your fall decor! If you have beautiful limelight or any color hydrangeas growing outside your home already, you are truly Blessed, if not you can go ask a sweet neighbor if you can cut some of theirs. Most people are so happy to share them.

Bringing Autumn into Our Historic Kitchen
My DIY French inspired kitchen island, all decorated for fall. My recently thrifted “scales of justice” decorated with little green velvet pumpkins! Bonus: the table runner for the island is a thrifted “pashmina”!

Our Cozy Master Bedroom
Above the bed is a large vintage floral print I found at a fairgrounds sale for only a few dollars. It’s one of my favorites! The moody colors work beautifully all year long.
The two prints on either side are vintage Hobby Lobby prints I found at the same sale a year later. My quilt is reversible, so I switched it to the green side. After all, it’s all about the GREEN this year!
Velvet Curtains in Our Master Bedroom
One of my favorite details in our master bedroom is the rich velvet curtains, which add such a cozy, elegant touch to the room. I love how velvet brings warmth and softness to our historic home, especially as we decorate for fall!My master bedroom is one of my favorite places to relax. The rich, dark green velvet curtains feel so luxurious. They make me feel rich! 🙂
